PJ Library is a great opportunity to receive children's books and CDs! Congregation B'nai Israel very proud to be the PJ Library implementing community for the Greater Danbury area.

If your child or grandchild is living in the Greater Danbury area(including New Fairfield, Bethel, Newtown, New Milford, Ridgefield, Redding, Brookfield, Sherman and Danbury, CT), and is between 6 months and 8 years of age, s/he is elegible to receive FREE, no strings attached, a book or a CD with Jewish content every month. All books come with a parent reading guide, so as to give parents more ideas and activitiessurrounding the book's theme or story.


Here are examples of the books sent recently to families:

Apples and Honey (6 months to 2 years)

(Ages 2 to 3)

(Ages 3 to 4)
Dates and Almonds (Ages 4 to 5)
Egg Matza (Ages 5 to 6)
Falafel (Ages 6 to 7)

efilte Fish
(Ages 7 to 8)
Hamantaschen (Ages 8 and up)

 

Friends and family members who live in our area may sponsor an eligible child from out of our community for $40 per child per year.
